UCare – health care that starts with you.

Everything we do at UCare revolves around a single goal – helping people of all ages and abilities overcome barriers to care. During the last 29 years, we have grown our membership and expanded our health care programs through ingenuity and strategic partnerships. We’ve shown that improving access to care can change lives for the better.

To us, barriers to access present an opportunity. For example, when our members were having difficulty scheduling dental appointments, we worked with our dental providers to offer a 30-day appointment guarantee. We pioneered interpreter and transportation services to better serve our diverse membership. We rolled out a wide range of health and wellness programs – including free car seats, fitness programs, and incentives for check-ups and screenings. Another first was UCare’s health coverage programs for people with disabilities. And, recognizing that Minnesota and western Wisconsin Medicare enrollees need a plan that fits their budgets, we continue to offer affordable, high-value plan options.

Our health improvement efforts reach beyond our membership directly into the community, where the UCare Fund and other community initiatives support the social safety net and deliver quality health care to at-risk communities across Minnesota. Funding goes to community organizations, providers, counties, family medicine research and education programs, and others.

Even as we’ve grown, UCare has never strayed from our vision of serving our members and the community through innovative services and partnerships. This commitment recently earned our UCare for Seniors Medicare Advantage plan a 9 out of 10 "Overall Ranking of Health Plan" by our members.
