Some Quick Facts about UCare
UCare...
Is the fourth-largest health plan in Minnesota, serving more than 175,000 members across Minnesota and 26 counties in western Wisconsin.
Provides health coverage to more than 60,000 Medicare-eligible individuals through its Medicare health plans.
Provides health coverage to more than 94,000 individuals and families enrolled in Minnesota Health Care Programs, such as MinnesotaCare and Medical Assistance.
Works with thousands of health care providers across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Members have access to more than 16,000 physicians at nearly 5,000 locations.
Was the first health plan in Minnesota to own and operate a mobile dental unit.
Is the only health plan in Minnesota and western Wisconsin to offer members a dental access guarantee.
Was the first health plan in Minnesota to offer health care programs for people with disabilities.
Was created in 1984 by the Department of Family Practice and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Today, UCare is an independent, nonprofit organization offering health coverage plans in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Was rated 9 out of 10 for Overall Rating of Health Plan by members of the
UCare for Seniors
Medicare Advantage plan. This 2009 Consumer Assessment of Health Care Providers and Systems (CAHPS) score is higher than the national average and all other Minnesota Medicare Advantage plans.
Is led by Nancy Feldman, President and Chief Executive Officer, who brings several decades of health care experience and executive leadership to her role.
