Quit Smoking Programs
UCare members can get free help to quit smoking or chewing tobacco with the Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline (MCTQ) or QUITPLAN.
Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline
You can call the counselors at the MCTQ to get help to kick the habit from the comfort of your own home. Counselors will give you support over the phone to help you stop smoking or chewing tobacco. Nicotine patches, gum, or lozenges are also available to eligible UCare members at no charge when they call the MCTQ.
Call the MCTQ at 1-888-642-5566 (toll free) to get started. TTY/hearing impaired: 1-866-257-2971. The MCTQ hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
QUITPLAN
You can get face-to-face help to quit smoking or chewing tobacco with QUITPLAN. There are QUITPLAN Centers across Minnesota where you can meet with counselors and get the tools you need to stop smoking or chewing tobacco. UCare for Seniors members in Wisconsin also can access QUITPLAN Centers in Minnesota.
