UCare Tooth Care

UCare is proud to be the only health plan in Minnesota to own and operate a mobile dental unit. Our UCare Tooth Care unit travels about 15,000 miles each year. It provides dental check-ups and cleanings, and simple restorative care to UCare members across the state.

UCare Tooth Care is a specially designed, 37-foot recreational vehicle. It has three dental chairs and the latest dental equipment. This “dentist’s office on wheels” is staffed by faculty-supervised dental and dental hygiene students from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Since its 2002 introduction, the unit has delivered quality, preventive dental care to more than 1,000 eligible UCare members each year. Its skilled dental staff performs close to 5,000 procedures annually.
