Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC)
From birth through age 20, all children and teens who are UCare members need regular Child and Teen Checkups. Bringing your child to a C&TC screening helps you make sure your child is healthy, and that he or she gets all needed immunizations (shots).
What will happen at a C&TC visit.
During a C&TC visit, the doctor will:
- Check your child’s height, weight, vision, and hearing.
- Make sure your child’s shots are up to date.
- Talk about dental care.
- Make sure your child is eating right.
- Check your child’s motor and communication skills (infants and toddlers).
- Talk about the risks of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use (teens).
- Talk about social and learning issues.
- Talk about stress and how to deal with it.
- And much more, depending on your child’s unique needs!
