2010 Information for UCare Complete Members
You may have heard that there will be some changes to UCare Complete in 2010. Starting Jan. 1, 2010, UCare Complete will offer full Medical Assistance coverage as before, including waiver benefits. But it will no longer offer Medicare coverage. UCare Complete will continue to serve individuals who are eligible for both Medical Assistance and Medicare.
This decision was difficult, but the deep cuts in Medicare reimbursements in 2010 mean we cannot cover the cost of Medicare benefits for members.
UCare and AXIS Healthcare will work together to ensure you continue to receive care coordination and medical services. You also will receive prescription coverage for non-Part D drugs. If you qualify, you will continue to receive home and community-based services through UCare. AXIS will continue to coordinate your care across all the services you receive.

Important reminders for members WITHOUT Medicare: |
- Your AXIS care coordinator will still be available to help you.
- If you have Medicare and you want to stay enrolled in UCare Complete, you will need to enroll in a new Medicare Part D Plan to cover your Part D-covered medications. You should enroll in a Medicare Part D Plan between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, 2009, to cover your Medicare Part D prescriptions. If you enroll in
a Medicare Part D Plan before Dec. 1, 2009, you will be removed from UCare Complete.
- If you receive home and community-based services, and you disenroll from UCare Complete, you will be at risk of losing your waiver services.
