In 2009, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) made the fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) training an annual requirement. Since the release of a final rule in the Federal Register (published in April 2010), many of the providers that completed the training in 2009 were deemed to have met the requirement by virtue of their enrollment in the Medicare Program. This means that UCare providers do not need to submit the annual attestation to us, as long as you are still a Medicare-contracted provider.
