UCare is proud to be the only health plan in Minnesota to own and operate a mobile dental unit. Our UCare Tooth Care unit travels about 15,000 miles each year providing preventive cleanings and checkups to UCare members across the state.
UCare Tooth Care is a specially designed, 37-foot recreational vehicle. It features three dental chairs, and the latest dental equipment. This "dentist's office on wheels" is staffed by faculty from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, and staff-supervised dental students. Since its 2002 introduction, the unit has delivered quality, preventive dental care to more than 1,200 eligible UCare members each year. Its skilled dental staff perform close to 5,000 procedures annually.
