Who is eligible:

• Organizations residing within Minnesota.
• Private nonprofit or public tax-exempt organizations for purposes defined under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code who are not foundations.
• Governmental agencies eligible to receive funding.
• Tribal governments and agencies.
• Research organizations.
• Faith-based organizations.

Funding limits:

• Proposals are funded on an annual basis and may be extended for an additional year subject to the UCare Fund Council approval. Funding beyond a two-year period is not considered except for extraordinary circumstances, which are at the discretion of the UCare Fund Council. Funding consideration is given primarily to requests of $50,000 or less.
• Organizations are not able to receive more than one grant per calendar year.

What is not funded:

• Individuals.
• Lobbying, political, or fraternal activities.
• Sports events and athletic groups.
• Religious purposes.
• Endowments, fundraising events, or development campaigns.
• Ongoing operating funding.
• Long-term financial support.
