Some UCare plans are transitioning to Medica — here's what comes next
UCare's Individual & Family and certain Medical Assistance (Medicaid) plans are transitioning to Medica. Today, you can continue using your plan as you do now. What this means for you next depends on the type of coverage you have.
If you have Medical Assistance (Medicaid), the name you see on your plan will transition from UCare to Medica One Health Plan on Oct. 1, 2026, with no gap in coverage. You'll receive information ahead of the change.
If you have an Individual & Family Plan, your UCare coverage continues through Dec. 31, 2026. For 2027, you'll receive details about a similar Medica plan and can choose a different option during open enrollment.
We'll continue to share information as the transition approaches so you know what to expect and what options are available.
Some UCare health plans have closed
UCare Medicare Advantage plans, UCare Medicare Supplement Plans, UCare’s MSHO and Connect + Medicare plans closed Dec. 31, 2025.
